We love this place so much we have been coming back every year for the past six summers. The gites are beautiful, the surrounding area is peaceful and in striking distance of great towns and restaurants, but the best part are our hosts - Giles and Amanda! Good, homely accommodation situated in a lovely area. Great walking, cycling and kayaking to be found nearby. Lovely restaurants, markets etc.. Then on returning to the accommodation you can enjoy a refreshing swim and soak in the pool, and sunbathe or read book etc, then have a game of table tennis. (L’Ecurie)

This was the third time we had stayed with Giles and Amanda who are the most marvellous hosts. The facilities are superb, clean and incredibly spacious with swimming pool, table tennis etc and use of bikes outside. The location is perfect with much to do in the locality, although staying at the gite itself is an amazingly restful way to spend a holiday. We look forward to our next trip. (L’Ecurie)

We have returned for the last 5 years. Great quality accommodation and a real home from home.
The owners have now become what we hope will be lifelong friends.
The only issue is if you all book I might find they're fully booked and that would really be a bad thing.

Amanda and Giles treat you like old friends. From a filled fridge to welcome you, to lovely crisp sheets and comfortable beds weekly. Clean pool, great river and walks. Welcome dogs. Great for the whole family to relax and have fun. Canoeing, cycling, fishing, local markets. Beautiful setting.

L'Ecurie is an imaginatively developed property that comfortably sleeps six adults. The living areas are very spacious with a well equipped and easy to use kitchen and dining area. One special feature is a very efficient wood-burning stove which we enjoyed on several evenings as the weather was unseasonably cold at night-time.
The outlook from the rear of the property is exceptionally beautiful with the constant sound of birdsong and the river. There are sitting and dining areas that catch the sun at different times of the day and we had extended breakfasts and lunches most days of the week. There is also plenty of shade for those who prefer it and I imagine the building would be delightfully cool when the temperature is very hot outside. The pool area is great for after lunch siestas.
The Gite is within easy access of several lovely villages and small towns. We particularly enjoyed Brantome with its market of excellent local produce.
Our hosts were welcoming and helpful without being obtrusive. Altogether a lovely place to stay - we just weren't there long enough!

Thank you for making us feel so welcome here at L'Ecurie and for all the wonderful extra touches, plus your kind hospitality, which have been much appreciated and made our first holiday in this part of France a really special one. The gite is fantastic! We have loved Brantome, Perigueux, cycling the Voie Verte from Thiviers to St Jean de Cole and Milhac - there were many more things we would like to have fitted in but we have enjoyed "chilling out" here too and the kids have loved the badminton and table tennis (and pool!). We would love to come back and hope we might be able to return next year.
